“What’s The Witcher without Superman?”: Even Laurence Fishburne Joining Season 4 Can’t Convince Henry Cavill Fans to Let it Go

Netflix’s The Witcher started with Henry Cavill in the lead. Audiences deemed it the perfect casting, and with Cavill’s knowledge of the source material,  he gave an immaculate performance as Geralt of Rivia. But 2023 brought a barrage of bad news. Not only did he leave the DCEU and the Superman cape behind, but Henry Cavill also announced that he was stepping down from the role of the Witcher.

Fans were dismayed, especially given his larger-than-life personality that came out in his performance. The showrunners soon announced that Liam Hemsworth will be joining the show in Cavill’s stead and take on the role of the Witcher. Fishburne is a brilliant actor and has the ability to mold the role to his needs, which will be a positive for playing a character like Regis.
