Tom Cruise has a lot of action in “Mission: Impossible 7.”

On December 21, Tom Cruise posted a 9 minute 30 second short film from the movie project Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One , which details the process of filming the scene where he drives a high-speed motorbike over a cliff. mountain, jump off the flying car and then parachute to the ground.

“This is the most dangerous segment we have ever done,” the actor said at the beginning of the video. Cruise also considered it the greatest action scene in the cinematic history of the Mission: Impossible franchise .

The stunt scene filmed in Norway was Cruise’s long-time dream. He wanted to make this moment of a lifetime since he was a child. According to director and screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie, Cruise created a master plan and assembled a team of experts from all related fields to complete this scene.

To be ready to step onto the filming set, Cruise spent a year undergoing basic and advanced skydiving training, learning observation and other necessary skills. Skydiving instructor Miles Daisher was surprised at how quickly Cruise learned.

“I just need to say something, Tom immediately understands it. His spatial awareness is excellent and Tom is the most aware person I have ever met,” Daisher praised.

Cruise said he does more than 30 jumps a day. At the end of the training course, he practiced jumping a total of more than 13,000 times. And by the time the official filming started, he had parachuted more than 500 times.

Besides skydiving, Cruise was also trained to ride an off-road motorbike. Stunt coordinator Wade Eastwood built a racetrack for the actors to try to cross tables 20 to 24 meters high. Cruise expressed: “I need to be as good at this subject as possible.”

All of Cruise’s efforts are aimed at bringing the audience the most eye-catching footage. He wants to attract viewers with suspense and overwhelm through each action scene.

Mission: Impossible 7 will be released on July 14, 2023. The sequel is expected to be released on June 28, 2024.
