The latest ‘leak’ of Manchester City’s supposed 2024/25 kit range has revealed some hugely promising designs that would certainly be met with love from supporters.
Puma and Manchester City have certainly split opinions on occasions during their collaboration on Manchester City’s kits, after the new partnership first began ahead of the 2019/20 season.
From Hacienda-inspired kits to editions based on the history, architecture, and manufacturing history of Manchester itself, Puma have not been afraid to break away from the traditional styles of football shirts when it comes to City.
Now, the forthcoming 2024/25 season appears to be no different, with Puma and Manchester City expecting to release three new shirts with references towards previous seasons since the Abu Dhabi takeover, a defining moment in the club’s history, and the region itself.
According to the information of TikTok user ‘zouuna’, Manchester City’s three kits for the 2024/25 season will feature two throwbacks to hugely popular editions from previous seasons in the club’s relatively recent history.
The Manchester City home kit may feature a relatively simple design at first glance, however it has since been revealed that the shirt will be a nod towards the Greater Manchester region’s 0161 dialling code, with graphics of such nature on the collar and sleeves.
New images from Esvaphane on social media platform X have showcased what that will look like, as Manchester City’s traditional sky blue is combined with navy accents to add a touch of style into their brand new edition.
There is some element of uncertainty when it comes to Manchester City’s away kit however, despite the common feeling being that designers have opted for a nod towards the club’s historic and iconic 1999 play-off final jersey worn against Gillingham.
While one source believes that Puma will go for a straightforward imitation of the iconic striped jersey, another features a more low-key point towards the Wembley showpiece, with colours combined into a largely navy shirt.
It remains unknown at this stage which of the two will be used.
And finally, when it comes to Manchester City’s third shirt, there is a high chance that this could be the most popular of the new range, with the club striking similarities with their 2012/13 edition worn to defend their first Premier League title.
A combination of maroon and gold will compliment the club’s FIFA Club World Cup badges nicely, which is expected to be worn for the duration of the new season with no such competition coming into play until the end of the campaign.
City Xtra will be releasing exclusive concepts of the new 2024/25 shirts in due course, based on the latest reliable information surrounding the editions.
