But Emma Watson is as far from a spoiled Hollywood kid as you can get – as she showed on the set of her new movie yesterday.

Emma, who was celebrating her 24th birthday, celebrated the big day with as little fuss as possible as she got stuck into work in Toronto, Canada.

Briefly taking an hour out of her day, she headed to a low-key healthy sandwich joint, the Olive Tree Delicafé, for a budget lunch.

Forget sipping mimosas by the pool – with temperatures hovering around freezing, Emma was instead wrapped up against the cold.

Dressed down in ripped jeans, Uggs and a warm coat, the starlet looked more like a stable hand than a Hollywood superstar.

In fact, the hard-working star barely paused from her work before returning to set to get back into character.

But rather than bemoaning her bad luck, the British star was happy to be working on her big day.

‘First day shooting Regression today – a very cool birthday present xx,’ she tweeted to fans.

As she got into character on set earlier in the day the actress wore what looked much like a waitress’s uniform, with a faded green pinafore over a green shirt, teamed with ripped grey tights and scuffed leather boots.
