  • In a dramatic chase, Arsenal tied with Bayern Munich

However, the Champions League arena is not the same as the Premier League. Although full of confidence, Arsenal also struggled against struggling Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga. After 90 minutes, they were lucky to draw 2-2 against the German representative.

This draw puts Arsenal at a bit of a disadvantage because they have to play the quarter-final second leg at the Allianz Arena. The rematch between the two teams takes place on April 18.

With home field advantage, Arsenal entered the match extremely confident. They even had a goal to take the lead against Bayern Munich in the 12th minute. After a pass from Ben White, Saka made a spectacular left-footed shot, hitting the opponent’s net, 1-0 for Arsenal.

However, right at the exciting time, coach Arteta’s team received “Champions League lessons”. The No. 1 tournament in Europe at the club level always has many potential dangers that can cause them to collapse.

In the 18th minute, in a sharp attack, Bayern Munich had two consecutive passes. Gnabry was the last to score against Arsenal, leveling the score at 1-1.

It didn’t stop there, in the 32nd minute, Arsenal’s defense made a mistake by letting Sane run the ball straight into the penalty area. Saliba fouled the German striker. The referee awarded Bayern Munich a penalty. On the 11m mark, Harry Kane scored to help the “Gray Tigers” take a 2-1 lead.

In the following time, Arsenal impatiently pushed their team higher in search of an equalizing goal. However, that leaves them exposed to gaps. If he had been sharper, Sane would have scored a third goal.

In the second half, Arsenal continued to attack diligently. In a deadlocked match, coach Arteta sent Gabriel Jesus and Trossard onto the field. The Spanish teacher’s adjustments were reasonable.

In the 76th minute, Jesus eliminated the away team’s defender, before releasing the ball for Trossard to score a dangerous shot to level the score at 2-2.

In the remaining time, both teams could not score any more goals. The match ended with a score of 2-2.
