Hard at work: Emma Watson was hard at work on the set of her latest movie Colonia Dignidad in Argentina on Thursday
Her movie Colonia Dignidad, directed by Oscar-winner Florian Gallenberger, is inspired by true events that took place during the Chilean military coup of 1973.
When Daniel (Brühl) is abducted by General Augusto Pinochet’s secret police, his girlfriend Lena (Watson) tracks him to a cult sanctuary called Colonia Dignidad.
What split? She recently called time on her relationship with Oxford University rugby player Matthew Janney but Emma isn’t sitting at home crying about it
New movie: Colonia Dignidad, directed by Oscar-winner Florian Gallenberger, is inspired by true events that took place during the Chilean military coup of 1973
Members of the body, which existed under the guise of being a charitable mission run by a preacher (Michael Nyqvist), tortured prisoners sent there by the former Chilean dictator.
Lena decides to join the cult in order to find her beloved and thus uncover the secrets of Colonia. And it appears as if Emma was shooting scenes of her time in the cult on Thursday.
Her outfit consisted of a drab grey coatdress with a plain shirt underneath and a crucifix on a chain.
Infiltration: In the movie Emma’s character infiltrates a cult in order to find her boyfriend who has been abducted by General Augusto Pinochet’s secret police
While a make-up artist carried a bag of supplies as she walked along beside Emma, the young actress appeared to be almost entirely fresh faced.
The anticipated film is also shooting in Luxembourg and Germany.
It is being directed by German filmmaker Gallenberger, who won an Oscar for Best Short Film in 2000 for his film Quiero ser.
Plenty to smile about: While Emma may be newly single, her career is going from strength to strength.
Meanwhile, although they split last month, it was just revealed last week that Emma and her 22-year-old student beau, who is reading Russian at Oriel College, broke up.
The couple, who dated for a year, went their separate ways due to Emma’s unrelenting work schedule but they are determined to remain friends.
The split was described as ‘amicable’ by a spokesman for the screen star.
