Shakira shines as she receives the WEF Crystal Award for her outstanding charity work, embodying beauty, brains, and a heart of gold in elegance.

She is a successful singer and mother-of-two.

But Shakira proved she has more than beauty and talent, as she received a Crystal Award at the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Switzerland on Monday.

The glamorous Hips Don’t Lie singer was recognised for her children’s charity work in her home country of Colombia.

Adding a touch of red carpet glamour, the songstress rocked a plunging black jumpsuit which made the most of her toned cuʀvᴇs.

The corset-style top showcased her slender midriff and cleavage, and featured quirky straps.

Wearing her trademark golden locks in loose tousled waves, she showed off her natural beauty with just a hint of blusher and lipgloss.

Beaming as she accepted the award, Shakira- who is also also a UNICEF Goodwill Ambᴀssador devoted to early childhood development, said: ‘Today’s babies will drive tomorrow’s business. Their capacity to contribute will shape tomorrow’s societies, will solve tomorrow’s problems.

‘In this room there are some of the most powerful people in the world, and definitely I’m convinced you know what it means to be ahead of the curve.

‘We need to apply the brains and strategies of business and the ᴀssets and human resources and talents of your companies to do social good and to solve social problems.’

Shakira works with underprivileged children in her home country of Colombia to support efforts to feed, educate and care for them.

Actor Forest Whittaker, 55, also received an award for his work on conflict resolution in the developing world.

The Panic Room star gave a pᴀssionate speech about how his Foundation are working on the front line to achieve humanitarian breakthroughs.

‘In Uganda, former child soldiers are now setting up electronics shops and salons’, he revealed proudly.

The World Economic Forum, which is a Swiss non-profit foundation, also gave awards to violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter, for her work with young musicians.

The annual meeting brings together business leaders, international political leaders and select intellectuals, to discuss the pressing issues facing the world.

The overarching theme of the 2017 meeting, which takes place from 17 to 20 January, is ‘Responsive and Responsible Leadership’.

Shakira has two children with partner of six years, footballer Gerard Piqué.

The duo met on set of her Waka Waka video and are parents to adorable little boys Milan, three, and Sasha, one.
