Shakira prefers her style as bold as her music. She’s not afraid to stand out and show the world that she has no time for boring looks.

Shakira’s outfits don’t lie: she’s stepping up her fashion game. While the DNA of her sᴇxʏ personal style remains the same, the Colombian singer has been ramping up her off-duty looks, favouring lace, leather and lots of Mugler. Take, for example, the three looks she wore to the Latin Grammy Awards last night: among them a breast-plated Harris Reed gown and a Dolce & Gabbana dress which bore the face of the Virgin Mary.

This sartorial revamp also coincides with the dissolution of her 11-year relationship with former Manchester United footballer Gerard Piqué, so needless to say, it’s been a busy year, both in Shakira’s personal life and style.

On Valentine’s Day she posted a video lip-syncing to SZA’s breakup anthem “Kill Bill”, while (somewhat inexplicably) mopping her carpet wearing a low-cut jumpsuit, which revealed a bralette and 6-inch Amina Muaddi stiletto boots. She performed her diss track “Shakira: BZRP Music Session #53” in leather chaps and under-boob cut-outs, and she launched a thousand memes in her Viktor & Rolf “NO” trench, which she wore to the Dutch brand’s couture show earlier this year. Maybe it’s fair to say there’s a little bit of revenge dressing at play here?

With her recent looks, Shakira has embraced the little top/big pants trend, and has proven that she rocks cut-out bodysuits like no other. Check out some of our favourite of the singer’s recent looks.
