Shakira and Nick Jonas Join Forces on NBC’s Dance It Out

Shakira and Nick Jonas reunited at Radio City Music Hall yesterday to chat about their new collaboration, Dancing with Myself. The show, which was co-developed by Shakira and Liza Koshy, is an upcoming eight-episode series scheduled to premiere on NBC on May 31st.

Drawing inspiration from TikTok, the show stars Shakira and Jonas in the role of “saviors” who come to the rescue of contestants eliminated by audience votes. Shakira shared in an interview with TODAY, “It’s our job to save those who have been voted off by the audience.”

At the NBCUniversal Upfront event, Shakira and Nick Jonas joined together on stage at the iconic Radio City Music Hall to introduce their exciting new competition, Dancing with Myself. The show, which is hosted by Camille Kostek, follows 12 talented contestants who showcase their dance skills in unique pods designed by the panel. The audience in the studio then votes to determine the winner of the cash prize. Shakira emphasized that the focus of the show is not on technical prowess, but rather on the contestants’ passion for dance and their love of expressing themselves through movement. The diverse group of contestants includes children, medical professionals, educators, construction workers, pilots, and even dentists. While the judges have the power to save contestants they believe should stay in the competition, they strive to provide constructive feedback without being overly critical, unlike the judges on other shows like The Voice.

Who needs judges anyway? A man from Colombia in his forties has joined forces with Liza Koshy to produce a fun and exciting eight-episode series based on TikTok. The show, set to debut on May 31st on NBC, follows the duo as they become “saviors” alongside a 29-year-old from New Jersey.
