As a Marvel movie star, a red carpet staple, one of the world’s highest-paid actresses, and a person who has won everything from a Tony Award to a People’s Choice Award, you might expect that Scarlett Johansson has expensive taste.
But in another piece of evidence that celebrities are just like us sometimes (in case you missed it, Hoda Kotb digs first dates at Chili’s and Frank Sinatra has a sweet spot for Entenmann’s coffee cake!), Johansson recently revealed that she has a very relatable comfort food.
Scarlett Johansson’s Go-To Restaurant Order
During an appearance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” to promote the 2017 comedy flick Rough Night, Colbert asked Johansson if there was a comfort food dish she orders on repeat to feel grounded while traveling so much to promote her dozens of films.
Without hesitation, the actor answers: “Um, chicken wings. I try chicken wings…wherever I am.”
Colbert asks if she can find them on menus everywhere, to which Johansson replies with a giggle, “Unfortunately, not! I wish that you could! But there are some countries that…they want to make the Americans feel at home, and so you’ll go to a H๏τel bar in Shanghai, and there will be wings! And it’ll be wonderful.”
This isn’t the first time Johansson and chicken wings have shared the spotlight. In fact, the actress made a hilarious appearance on the wildly popular, progressively-spicier chicken wing eating show “H๏τ Ones.” She made it to “the tip-top of spice mountain” and was “yodeling from the summit,” meaning that she conquered even the most fiery of wings with flair.
Back to her chat with the comedian/host, Colbert confides in Johansson that he, too, has a penchant for this popular brew pub food option: “That’s my go-to. It’s how I test a H๏τel. I order wings and a Caesar salad.”
“Oh my gosh, me too! We are samesies,” Johansson says excitedly.
“I say that all the time. Me and Scarlett Johansson; kinda samesies,” Colbert laughs.
