Jude Bellingham has impressed since joining Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund for €134 million in the summer. With a huge price tag, the midfielder immediately showed his value when he scored 13 goals and 3 assists in 14 matches in all competitions for Los Blancos.
According to MARCA, Bellingham’s numbers are better than the best seasons of Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema. In total, his 16 direct contributions to goals accounted for 55.17% of Real’s attack index (29 goals in 15 matches) in the 2023-24 season.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo has a goal contribution rate of 50.62% thanks to 61 goals and 21 assists for Real in his best season in 2014-15. For Benzema, the highest number he has is scoring 49.58% of the team’s goals, with 44 goals and 21 assists in the 2021-22 season.
Even when only counting goals scored (not assisting), Bellingham still contributed more than both of the above legendary strikers. His 13 goals in all competitions account for 44.83% of Real Madrid’s total of 29 goals after 15 matches so far.
For comparison, the Portuguese superstar’s 61 goals accounted for 37% of Real Madrid’s total of 162 goals in the 2014-2015 season. Benzema’s 44 goals account for 36% of the total 119 goals in the 2021-22 season.
The above undeniable numbers helped the English midfielder win the 2023 Kopa Trophy at the Golden Ball awards ceremony last month. The player born in 2003 is predicted to be a bright candidate for next year’s Golden Ball if he continues to maintain this form, helping Los Blancos reap major titles.
