Her full setlist boasted a host of her smash hits, including Formation, Run The World (Girls) and Love on Top, with the show opening with an atmosphere shattering mash-up of Dangerously In Love, Flaws And All and 1+1.

Her looks comprised a host of incredible numbers, including glittering catsuits and epic metallic corsets and barely-there mini dresses by a slew of designers including Alexander McQueen, Loewe and David Koma.

Proving a stage spectacular takes hard work, it has been reported that Beyonce travels with a body double who steps in during rehearsals to show the star what her dances look like from an audience perspective.

After her Cardiff concert, Beyonce will travel to Edinburgh for one show on Saturday, followed by a Sunderland show on May 23, before travelling to the Stade de France in Saint-Denis on May 26.

On May 29, Beyonce will then return to the capital for a run of five concerts at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

While famed for her energetic performances, the mother-of-three has been decidedly more restrained during her shows, taking more breaks and opening the show with a series of ballads.

Taking to Twitter fans were quick to speculate that she was recovering from an injury – four months after rumours circulated that she underwent secret foot surgery.

The whispers started in January after the singer’s performance in Dubai at Atlantis The Royal opening.

Despite fans being upset by the lack of dance moves, she still wowed the critics, with The Guardian’s Malcolm Jack giving the show a five star rating, claiming ‘Queen Bey’s first solo headline tour in seven years is a lavish leap forward for live entertainment, dripping with sci-fi disco decadence, sex and Black pride.’

The New York Times’ Alex Marshall praised the singer for her LGBT positive performance, noting: ‘Beyoncé played into those connections throughout the show, nodding to the ballroom and vogueing culture that inspired “Renaissance” at the end of the night by giving the stage over to her dancers, who tried to outperform each other to rousing cheers.’

Yet he observed: ‘But for one of pop’s ultimate dancing queens, Beyoncé’s performance was far less physical than on past tours. She often seemed to keep her feet stationary while shaking her upper body, and appeared to favor one leg. She spent much of one song sitting atop a prop.’

Beyonce‘s Renaissance World Tour could out-earn Taylor Swift‘s phenomenally successful Eras Tour by a whopping $600million, Forbes has revealed.

The Crazy In Love hitmaker, 41, began her first solo tour in seven years on Wednesday  – with the star set to do battle with 33-year-old Swift’s 52 date concert tour, which broke Ticketmaster records with single day sales of two million.

However, Queen Bey’s 41 date tour, which ends in North America in September, could gross between $275 million and $2.57 billion from tickets alone – which smashes The Eras Tour’s $1.9billion projection.

Therefore, billionaire Beyonce could make nearly $2.2 billion from the tour, $600million more than the $1.6 billion Swift could earn.

The estimates are based on projected high numbers of fans buying tickets and high average ticket prices of around $700, the publication reports.

VIP packages for the tour range from $3757 to $5000.

The estimate is also based on artists raking in a huge share of merchandise proceeds, leaving them with 80 per cent of tour revenues, minus expenses

Beyonce released Renaissance, her seventh studio album containing the hit track Break My Soul, in July 2022.
