In the match between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, Mario Hermoso opened the scoring for Atletico in the 6th minute, then in the 20th minute Antonio Rudiger brought the match back to the starting line.

In the 29th minute, Ferland Mendy put Real Madrid up 2-1, but just eight minutes later, French striker Antoine Griezmann pulled the match back to the starting line. This goal also helped Griezmann become a legend with 174 goals, surpassing Luis Aragones to become the player with the most goals in Atletico Madrid history .

In the second half, Real’s hero, Rudiger, became a “criminal” when he scored an own goal to help his great rival take a 3-2 lead in the 78th minute. But then this is when Real Madrid’s “gene” came into play. Effective when they were not easily demoralized and subdued, in the 85th minute veteran Dani Carvajal scored atonement for his teammates by leveling 3-3. That was the result in 90 minutes that forced the two teams to enter two extra periods.

Real showed off its “big man” personality when Joselu and Brahim Diaz scored two goals in the 116th and 120+2 minutes respectively to finish off Atletico Madrid. Ancelotti’s team entered the Super Cup final with a 5-3 victory.

The remaining semi-final match between Barcelona and Osasuna is at 2 o’clock on January 12. There is a high possibility that the Spanish Super Cup in Riyadh will end with the derby and then El Clasico.
