‘Phenomenal or Forgotten!’ Who’s To Blame for Micah Parsons’ Cowboys Playoff Silence?

Following today’s Dallas Cowboys‘ loss to the Packers, CeeDee Lamb seemed quite disappointed with the overall end to their season! An incident that stole the spotlight was when Lamb and Prescott were spotted exchanging words from the sidelines following their disheartening start. Although the head coach settled the concern, Lamb’s recent statement reflects a different picture.

Dallas lost to the Packers in a 32-48 upset, shattering their Super Bowl dreams. Furthermore, it has been 28 years since the Dallas Cowboys defeated the Packers in the 1995 NFC championship. On top of that, Lamb and Prescott were not at their full potential as they had been in previous matches. And this has bothered the wide receiver.

CeeDee Lamb expressed his disappointment after a brutal loss

In the latest press conference on the Dallas Cowboys YouTube channel after the Cowboys and Packers wild-card round, Lamb discussed the struggles associated with the matchup. During the presser, Lamb seemed upset about his performance. When the interviewer asked Lamb about the” first couple of throws,” he said, “A couple of miscues, um, everyday things that, I mean, that’s completions that we normally make, you know. My part could have been better, and, um, I’m sure he (Prescott) would be saying this. Not pointing fingers, I feel I could have done a better job of making the completion.”

The star WR further talked about Jordan Love‘s performance, which has contributed to the Packer’s win. Lamb couldn’t control his emotions when asked about his feelings post-game, as they won’t play in the divisional rounds of playoffs. The wide receiver, in an emotional tone, said, “Terrible; obviously, I felt we’re playing next week, but unfortunately, that’s not the case.”

The emotion is fair enough, as Lamb struggled to connect with Prescott in the initial phase of the showdown. In addition, he missed four passes in the first half. The Packers’ defense hampered the Cowboys’ offensive rhythm, resulting in a 27-0 deficit at one point in the game. On top of that, the matchup couldn’t even witness the Lamb and Prescott power duo like in previous games.

Today’s showdown couldn’t witness the power-packed performances of Lamb and Dak Prescott. Both the champions are known for their beautiful chemistry on the field. Lamb holds the record of 1,749 receiving yards. Moreover, he is known for his 135 catches and has caught a third of Prescott’s touchdown passes. In this season itself, during the showdown against the Rams, Lamb and Prescott together had 12 catches on 14 targets. The power duo is one of the most talked-about pairs in the NFL, with the wide receiver and quarterback potentially having at least 30 attempts.

Lamb even once acknowledged how much he depends on Prescott, as he said, “At my position, he’s relying on me, and I’m relying on him.” He further emphasized that he trusted the quarterback, resulting from their years of togetherness. However, today’s matchup was disappointing, as the duo couldn’t put forth their usual performance. Even Prescott showed his dissatisfaction by saying he deserves the blame for the outcome as much as their head coach does.
