But one fascinating statistic proves that the NFL has a greatest quarterback of all time — and it’s not Mahomes.
The league’s reigning MVP is 8-2 all-time in the playoffs when trailing by at least seven points.
The two losses have one thing in common.
Tom Brady.
NFL fans immediately hit upon that fact to once again proclaim Brady as the undisputed greatest to play the most important position in sports.
“Reason number 754,834 why Brady is the goat,” one fan tweeted.
“The only Mahomes stopper,” a second fan posted.
“Tom Brady is the GOAT,” a third fan said. “I still think Mahomes is overrated.”
A fourth fan teased a huge QB matchup in the AFC Championship on Sunday in Baltimore.
“Only one man that can stop him now,” wrote the fan, while posting an image of a dancing Lamar Jackson.
Mahomes’ overall stats during the playoffs are surreal.
He’s played 16 total postseason games, completing 66.7 percent of his passes for 4,561 yards, 38 touchdowns, seven interceptions and a 106.7 rating.
Brady and New England beat Mahomes and the Chiefs 37-31 in the 2018 playoffs during Mahomes’ first year as a starter.
The other win for Brady came in Super Bowl LV, when the veteran QB won his seventh ring while guiding Tampa Bay to its first world title.
Mahomes has been almost unbeatable in the playoffs.
Except when he played Brady.
“Brady has his number,” a fan tweeted.
