Owning MU, Ratcliffe determines Rashford’s future

New Manchester United owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe reportedly wants to keep Marcus Rashford at Old Trafford, despite links with Paris Saint-Germain.

Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Arsenal are all said to have an interest in England international Marcus Rashford if he leaves in the upcoming summer transfer window. However, according to Football Insider, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS really want to keep Marcus Rashford at the club long term.

Marcus Rashford attracts strong interest from Paris Saint-Germain. Last season, this versatile striker was in excellent form, scoring 30 goals in 56 matches in all competitions. After such impressive performances on the pitch, Rashford has earned a bumper new contract until 2029 at Old Trafford, increasing his weekly wages to £325,000 a week.

However, this season, the 27-year-old seems to have lost all confidence and has only scored 5 goals and 2 assists in 24 Premier League appearances. Rashford’s unconvincing performance has led many sources to believe that the Red Devils will sell him in the summer to cut losses.

Rashford is on PSG’s radar as a possible replacement for Kylian Mbappe, who will leave the club at the end of the season on a free transfer and could very well join La Liga giants Real Madrid.

PSG are expected to save up to 300 million Euros when their No. 1 star leaves, which will give them more time to make a huge spending spree in the summer. Therefore, PSG is completely capable of making a super attractive offer if they increase their pursuit of the English star in the summer.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS still believe in Marcus Rashford. The report adds that club chiefs know what Rashford can do when he is in top form.

Although this season’s performance is not really good, Rashford is still regularly in Ten Hag’s 11-player squad, which also shows that the Dutch coach trusts his student.

Rashford, along with Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho, have formed the most dangerous attacking trio to date for MU. They have shown positive signs, according to statistics in 7 matches this trio has appeared together. MU won 6 and drew 1. Certainly in the rest of the season, the presence of Rashford as well as Hojlund or Garnacho will greatly affect the Red Devils’ top 4 race.
