A New Way To Dispose of Your Christmas Tree in Tennessee

A Sanctuary in Tennessee needs to feed its elephants, and elephants love eating trees. They are having a “Christmas Tree Drive,” requested people to provide them with their trees after the holiday season, so that they have plenty of food to feed the hungry animals for an extended period.

Previously, people didn’t know what to do with their trees. They would either throw it out or use it for firewood. The option they now have is a much more environmentally friendly one. The hungry animals are also happy now as they have plenty to eat. Elephants can devour up to 150 pounds of food each day

The initiative taken is a smart one. It is friendly to the environment as well as providing nutrition to animals that need it. As the sanctuary is a growing one, it will continue to take in trees every year, benefiting both the people and the animals.
