Messi’s second-half goal helped Inter Miami have the largest margin of victory in team history.

Lionel Messi and Inter Miami created a rain of goals against rival Orlando City. The Argentine star scored twice in the second half to help Inter Miami win 5-0. It was also the largest margin of victory in the 5-year history of the club from Florida.

Suarez had a shining day when he scored a quick double in just the first 11 minutes of the match.  

Not inferior to his teammate, the Argentine superstar scored his first goal quite humorously in the 57th minute. The Orlando defender hit the crossbar, the ball went to Messi’s position, the Inter Miami star calmly touched the ball, even though Orlando City defender Rodrigo Schlegel frantically tugged on Messi’s shirt but it was in vain as the ball gently went into the net.

Inter Miami’s captain scored the fifth goal of the match in the 62nd minute, after a beautiful pass from Luis Suarez. This goal was truly a highlight for Messi as it was a header from a long distance. It was definitely an excellent and rare goal in the career of this star who won 8 Golden Balls.  

Messi now has three goals for the season, level with DC United’s Christian Benteke and currently leads the top scorers list in MLS.

Messi was criticized in the previous match for only scoring in the last minute when the opponent lost players. An irony comes to the Miami star. However, Messi has proven to everyone his talent. Messi and his teammates after 3 matches in MLS have scored 8 goals, conceded 1 time, have 7 points, and lead the rankings. 

Surely the goal of Messi and his teammates this season will be much bigger, a title in MLS will definitely be the goal that Inter Miami aims to affirm the club’s position. Inter Miami’s next challenge will be Nashville at the CONCACAF Club Championship, the match takes place at 3:00 on March 8.
