Inter Miami has announced that its first match will take place against the El Salvador national team in San Salvador on January 19.

The club said on Thursday: “We are delighted to begin announcing our pre-season plans and preparations before a campaign in 2024”. 

Director of Football and Sporting Director Chris Henderson said: “We look forward to facing the El Salvador national team, in a good first match beautiful for our team against the best players of a country”. 

There has been recent uncertainty about the team’s pre-season plans. Earlier this month, it was announced that Lionel Messi and Inter Miami will play against Cristiano Ronaldo and Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia during a friendly match in February.

However, just a few hours later, Inter Miami released a statement, calling this information ‘inaccurate’.

But immediately, the MLS club removed the statement from its website. 

Inter Miami’s 2024 season tickets recently sold out, despite fans previously expressing outrage at the steep price increase.
