Darwin Nunez defied a popular football trend by giving his shirt to a Liverpool ball boy rather than a sign-waving supporter, much to the joy of Reds fans.
Fans now carry homemade signs to football games, requesting that their favorite player give them their shirt at the end of the game.
Following Liverpool’s 2-1 victory over the Seagulls, a fan in the crowd requested Nunez’s shirt.
Despite appearing to notice the sign that stated ‘Nunez, may I have your jersey please’, the forward chose not to pass his shirt into the crowd.
Instead, Nunez was seen handing out his number 9 jersey to a lucky Liverpool ball boy while appearing to stare in the direction of the fan sign.

Nunez was part of the Liverpool team that returned to the top of the Premier League with the victory over Brighton on Sunday.
After seeing photographs of Nunez’s decision on social media, several questioned whether the Spanish-speaking actor had understood the request.
Others assumed Nunez felt the ball boy, who is said to be a Liverpool academy player, deserved the souvenir.
‘You got to love this man,’ one admirer remarked on X, while another saw the funny side and said, ‘Hahaha funny that tbf’. 
Another user applauded Nunez for his generosity, writing, “Yes…brilliant when a lot of the ball boys are actually academy players these days.” Very generous.
There was also a playful dig at the 24-year-old’s unpredictability in front of goal and’missing’ the sign, which said, ‘Mean to deliver it to him but missed by 2 yards’.

Nunez started the match at Anfield, which saw Liverpool return to the top of the Premier League thanks to Mohamed Salah’s second-half goal.
Luis Diaz had pulled the Reds back into the game just before halftime after Danny Welbeck had given the visitors an unexpected lead after two minutes.
It was Liverpool’s first win over Brighton under Roberto De Zerbi, who has been mentioned as a potential Jurgen Klopp replacement.
Following the game, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp commended both Nunez and Diaz, saying, “We need all the boys.” Darwin created so many opportunities for us, and Lucho [Diaz] was fantastic, so everyone performed exceptionally well today.
Liverpool now leads the league by two points from Arsenal and Manchester City, following their goalless draw.

As a result of that win and Arsenal and Manchester City’s goalless draw, Liverpool now lead the way in the league, two points ahead of the Gunners in second place.
