Hollywood star Jennifer Lawrence explained just how badly she dealt with a spicy wing challenge when the cameras cut.
While doing a press tour for her latest movie No Hard Feelings, Lawrence was invited to appear on Hot Ones– an American YouTube talk show hosted by Sean Evans. Check out what she had to say about the ridiculously spicy challenge:
Jennifer Lawrence after Hot Ones
Lawrence’s film No Hard Feelings follows a cash-strapped woman hired by a pair of rich parents to date their 19-year-old son in a bid to ensure he has sex before he heads off to college.
On Hot Ones, Evans asks celebrities a series of questions as they attempt to work their way through rounds of increasingly spicy chicken wings.
Speaking to Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live, Lawrence explained just how awfully her body reacted to the challenge after the cameras stopped rolling.
Lawrence had been taking part in a number of press ops that day as part of the junket for No Hard Feelings and had taken the challenge in the hotel she was staying in. She later revealed exactly how her body reacted to the hot sauce.
“I passionately threw up after. Violently,” Lawrence told Cohen.
“I made it upstairs to my suite. My holding suite. We shot at the Four Seasons downstairs.”
She added: “My stomach gave me, like, eight minutes to get upstairs and then she… She… [vomited].”
Lawrence’s attempt at the spicy challenge also went viral on YouTube and was viewed more than 12 million times. Check it out here:

While the star performed respectably during the segment, when she reached the wing covered in a hot sauce called Da Bomb Beyond Insanity, she soon reached for the water pitcher, fanning herself as tears began to stream.
“Nothing helps!” she said though pained laughter.
“I’m drooling so much. Is my face OK?”
During the Hot Ones segment, Lawrence spoke about her acting career and joked that in 20 years’ time she will agree with Jodie Foster, that there will be similarities between the roles she takes and what is going on in her life.
Lawrence joked that she would look back saying she really wanted to date a 20-year-old in reference to the character from the film, Percy.
While the premise of the film has been met with some criticism, Lawrence’s co-star Laura Benanti – who plays Percy’s mum – said the movie is actually a satire of helicopter parents.
“It’s a cautionary tale,” she told the Hollywood Reporter.
“If you are a helicopter parent who puts your child in such a bubble, they do not know how to exist outside of that bubble, you are going to make the exact opposite and insane choice, which is what they are doing here.”
