Whether it’s a super suit or a suit of armour, Henry Cavill has a specific/impressive frame that results in specific/impressive fits. When you’re that jacked, menswear shopping has to be hyper specific. So if you like something, you wear the legs off of it – and that’s exactly what he did during a press event in Seoul for his latest film, Argylle.
The rule of thumb is: if you’re a big guy, you should probably go for a single-breasted suit rather than a double-breasted one. That’s because the latter tends to put a strong emphasis on horizontal lines, therefore making you look wider and shorter than you actually are. But, in the South Korean capital, the British actor defied the laws of physics when he rocked up in a double-breasted suit, and it made him seem even more jacked.

In a dark brown colour, the two-piece was covered in an intricate black and red plaid pattern. He wore it with a dark blue shirt, a wool tie, with one of his (many) cool watches strapped to his wrist. Everything was tailored to fit his big, big arms and broad, broad shoulders, and it just looked, well, perfect. His fans knew it. We knew it. And Cavill definitely knew it too, because 10 days later, he wore the exact same get-up (sans tie) to an Argylle screening some 7,000 miles away in New York City.

Because, why not? If something fits and it fits well, there’s no point in wearing it once and never again. According to the North London Waste Authority, 10,000 pieces of clothing are sent to UK landfill every five minutes. And y’know those jeans that are just sitting in your wardrobe? They took around 1,800 gallons of water to make—which raises an eyebrow when some guys throw them out after just three years.
Plus, it’s good to find your own uniform (and stick to it). Austin Butler practically wore his Carhartt jacket everyday for a year straight. Bradley Cooper rides his sneakers hard until they’re falling apart at the seams. Keanu Reeves loves his black beanie so much that there’s even a dedicated Instagram account.
So even if you can’t look like Henry Cavill and you can’t act like Henry Cavill, the least you can do is re-wear like Henry Cavill. We love a sustainable king.
