Over these four months, the Sky Vet program responded to 12 wildlife cases, showcasing an unyielding commitment to animal welfare.
Their mission was greatly aided by the remarkable SWT helicopter, a crucial tool providing essential mobility to reach needy animals.
In a remarkable display of versatility, an outsourced aircraft was enlisted for elephant darting operations, search, and monitoring missions.
Both magnificent and vulnerable, elephants took center stage in the Sky Vet program’s interventions.
Eleven out of the 12 cases involved these gentle giants, each facing unique challenges.
From the heart-wrenching tragedy of poisoned arrows to the stark reality of snares and spears, the Sky Vet program confronted a range of threats. Notably, two cases were attributed to natural causes, emphasizing the intricate nature of wildlife health.
In a particularly uplifting turn, one of the cases involved a rescue, highlighting the program’s holistic approach to wildlife conservation.
The success of the Sky Vet program is remarkable; their rapid response to emergencies and expert veterinary care played a pivotal role in saving these amazing creatures.
An impressive 83% success rate was achieved out of the 12 cases addressed, underscoring the program’s efficacy.
