Gal Gadot said she would do everything she could to avoid being crowned Miss Universe.

On October 14, Daily Mail reported that Gal Gadot appeared on the cover of Vanity Fair ‘s November issue with a sexy image. In an interview with an American magazine, the star of Wonder Woman 1984 recounted her past of competing in beauty contests.

The 35-year-old star was crowned Miss Israel in 2004. In the same year, she represented this country at Miss Universe held in Ecuador.

However, sharing with Vanity Fair , the Fast & Furious actress said she tried her best not to win the beauty queen crown.

“Paula Abdul used to be the person who interviewed me in the question-and-answer rounds. I answered like ‘Sorry, I don’t speak English’. I did everything I could to make sure I didn’t win the Miss pageant that year.” , Gadot said.

After “Wonder Woman’s” answer, many comments on the Daily Mail said that she was fake. “The other contestants are all trying to win. Gadot is selfish and unprofessional to say this,” one account wrote.

“Miss Jennifer Hawkins of Australia that year was undefeated. There is no way Gadot won even though she tried her best. She just said that to prove she is a classy person ,” another person commented.

The 35-year-old star was even said to be arrogant with this statement. There are opinions that she could completely refuse the international competition or quit the competition instead of intentionally losing points and then making a fake statement.

Previously, Gal Gadot shared with Glamor that she did many actions that caused her to lose points so she had no chance of winning. “I try to show lack of discipline because I’m afraid I’ll win the award again. I’m often late and don’t wear the required dress,” said the Justice League star .

In 2017, the Jewish beauty told Rolling Stones that she did not think she would become Miss Israel. “I told myself this was an experience and had absolutely no idea I would win,” she recalled.

Gal Gadot is currently a rising star in Hollywood. After appearing in two major movie projects, Fast & Furious and Wonder Woman , her salary increased significantly.

Vanity Fair said the 35-year-old star’s salary increased from $300,000 to $10 million when participating in Wonder Woman 1984 . Recently, she continued to gain attention when she agreed to transform into Queen Cleopatra in a new movie.
