She walked the 2023 Oscars red carpet on March 12 in a shimmering black Givenchy gown that delivered a master class in understated brilliance. She might not have been dressed by Mary-Kate and Ashley’s label, but Olsen’s look clearly reflected her chic siblings’ pared-back and elegant sense of style.

Despite its simple, column silhouette and monochromatic black, Olsen’s dress sparkled thanks to a number of small, beautifully constructed details. The halter, for instance, featured a beaded fringe at the back of the neck and a plunging cowl neckline in a sequined fabric that made the whole look shimmer.
