Dwayne ‘the Rock’ Johnson calls Emily Blunt ‘one of the finest actresses ever’ and talks about their roles in the flicks Jungle Cruise 2 and The Smashing Machine.
Emily Blunt and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson are reuniting, but not for Jungle Cruise 2 just yet. Johnson disclosed that he and his Jungle Cruise co-star will be collaborating on an MMA-related biography, The Smashing Game, after the 96th Academy Awards. Johnson, meanwhile, is in favour of Frank Wolff—also known as Francisco Lopez de Heredia—resuming his journey with Dr. Lily Houghton. In an interview with Variety, Johnson addressed the following query regarding the creation of a sequel to the 2021 Disney picture:Maybe. In the future, yes, I would want to do it. We’ll see. Maybe. In the same interview, Johnson responded to a question of working with his Jungle Cruise co-star once more on The Smashing Machine:
“I’m eager. The Smashing Machine is being filmed. It’s written and directed by Benny Safdie. It’s a biographical film about an MMA godfather who battled addiction. He experienced difficulties with love, success, and loss. Of course, Emily, one of my closest friends and the greatest actress of all time, is up for tonight’s nomination. For her and all of her “Oppenhomies,” I’m overjoyed. Additionally, we’ll shoot that using A24 after that. I’m eager.”

.
Johnson continued, saying:
Although this is very different from what we did with “Jungle Cruise,” I must say that Emily is the best partner in our business and the person I would most want to have in order to tear this thing apart. You know, a few years ago, she was filming Oppenheimer with Benny Safdie, and around that time, they were discussing The Smashing Machine. So, dude, this has been a long time coming.
