During the conversation with Smith, Ferguson made the bombshell revelation that an “absolute idiot” of a co-star once berated her on set. She refused to name this actor who was “number one on the call sheet.” However, she clarified before starting her story that it was “not Hugh [Jackman]. Not Tom Cruise.” She revealed that the actor was so insecure and angry because that person couldn’t get their scenes right.

“This person would literally look at me in front of the whole crew and say ‘You call yourself an actor? This is what I have to work with? What the f**k is this?’ And I stood there just breaking.”
However, she required no help in handling the situation differently when she appeared on the set the next time. She revealed that she used “her voice” to tell off the actor in the strongest language possible. She shared her proud retaliation with Josh Smith:

“The next day I walked on and I said, ‘You get off my set’. It was the first time I’d ever spoken [back to that person]. I was so scared. And I looked at this person and said ‘You can f**k off.’”
Rebecca Ferguson continued filming scenes with the actor, but she didn’t have to face the person. The producers couldn’t fire their “number one actor on their call sheet.” The Girl on the Train actress proved with this single incident that she is not someone scared of speaking her mind.

Tom Cruise Allegedly Berated His Crew While Filming Mission: Impossible 7
While Rebecca Ferguson cleared Tom Cruise‘s name, the A-list actor came under scrutiny when The Sun released leaked audio where he was shouting at his crew. The outburst happened during the shoot of Mission: Impossible 7, which also starred Ferguson, during COVID-19. His expletive-filled rant on set in Leavesden, England, began when he spotted two crew members standing too close to one another. According to The Sun, the Jack Reacher actor can be heard shouting:

“If I see you do it again you’re (expletive) gone. And if anyone on this crew does it, that’s it. We are the gold standard. They’re back there in Hollywood making movies right now because of us. Because they believe in us and what we’re doing. I’m on the phone with every (expletive) studio at night, insurance companies, producers and they’re looking at us and using us to make their movies. We are creating thousands of jobs, you (expletive). I don’t ever want to see it again. Ever!”
He later clarified to Empire Magazine that he said what he said because there was a lot at stake at the time. However, he shared that his rant happened in front of a select few from the crew and not the entire crew. Cruise garnered both support for caring about public safety and criticism for his behavior. While he’s not Ferguson’s A-list celebrity who insulted her, there are several other possibilities.
