Kansas City Chiefs legend, Dante Hall, has given Patrick Mahomes some advice. He thinks Mahomes should be more like Tom Brady and focus on the small things that lead to wins, rather than trying to make flashy plays.

Hall shared his thoughts on NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football,”. He reassured Chiefs fans, saying: “I will say this to Chiefs Kingdom: Everything will be OK in the end, and if it’s not OK, then it’s not the end.”

He believes the team’s issues start with Matt Nagy, the offensive coordinator.

Hall noted that under Nagy, the Chiefs’ offence has seemed less disciplined. He compared this to when Eric Bieniemy was the offensive coordinator, saying these problems didn’t exist then.

Hall said: “You’re the offensive coordinator. You, besides JuJu Smith-Schuester leaving, are the only change in this Super Bowl-winning offense and it must be you. Get these guys in order.”

Hall also spoke about Mahomes, who he called his “favourite quarterback”. The Chiefs quarterback has grown visibly more frustrated as the Chiefs have struggled to reach the high standards they have set themselves, and Hall believes there is a solution.

“But I think you need to fall in love with the mundane. Yes, for five years, we have been used to bug plays to Tyreek [Hill], to [Travis] Kelce, all of that,” he said. “It’s time to be ‘Checkdown’ Tom Brady. Falling in love with the swing route, the check-downs. These plays have been there for the taking and that’s pretty much what we need to get to, right?”

“Check-down, when it’s there, take it. Don’t look for the big play. Get a rhythm. If it’s a five-yard check-down, throw it to him.”

The former player then mentioned that Mahomes and Kelce should control their feelings because they lead the team, and everyone else looks at them to make smart choices and keep their cool.

“And then the last thing – I’ll end on this: Body language is everything,” he added. “When you are screaming and yelling at your players, that spreads bad vibes. But if you keep calm and show you believe you can win, that spreads good vibes.”

“Get back to being positive and not so negative on the sideline with your guys. Be better and I think the team will be better.”

After a tough defeat to the Las Vegas Raiders on Christmas, the Kansas City Chiefs have just two games left – against the Cincinnati Bengals on Dec. 31 and the Los Angeles Chargers on Jan. 7. They need to sort out their problems before the playoffs. If they don’t, Mahomes and his team’s defence of their Super Bowl title could be over quickly.
