Cristiano Ronaldo closed the 2023 calendar year very impressively by contributing 1 goal in Al Nassr’s 4-1 comeback victory over Al Taawon in round 19 of the 2023/24 Saudi Arabia National Championship.
Minute 90+2, Ronaldo jumped high and headed dangerously after Seko Fofana’s pass, sealing a 4-1 victory for Al Nassr.
The goal against Al Taawon helped the Portuguese superstar end 2023 with 54 goals, thereby officially becoming the number 1 scorer in 2023.
Ronaldo surpassed players in their prime, Kylian Mbappe (PSG) and Harry Kane (Bayern Munich), by 2 goals; Erling Haaland (Man City) 4 goals.
At the age of 38, although he is no longer at his peak, Ronaldo still shows that he can still do what every player dreams of and scoring 54 goals in 2023 is truly extraordinary.
Of the 54 goals scored this year, Ronaldo “fired” 10 times for the Portuguese Team and 44 goals scored for Al Nassr.
Notably, since turning 30, Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 409 goals. He only needs 27 more goals to reach the 900 goal mark in his career.
Ronaldo currently leads the list of top scorers of the 2023-24 Saudi Arabia National Championship with 20 goals in 19 matches, 2 goals more than the next ranked person, Al Hilal’s Alexandr Mitrovic.
After 19 rounds, Ronaldo is also the player with the most assists in the Saudi Pro League with 9 times helping his teammates put their names on the scoreboard.
“I’m very happy, 2023 is really a good year for me individually and collectively,” CR7 shared after reaching 54 goals in 2023.
“I have scored many goals. I am proud of that and will continue to try to maintain my form. In 2024, I will repeat everything.”
As for Al Nassr, the victory over Al Taawoun helped them get 46 points, narrowing the gap with top team Al Hillah to 7 points.
