Carvajal, MVP of the semi-final

The full-back produced a spectacular display in the derby: he scored Madrid’s third goal, provided the assist for Mendy’s goal and put in the cross for Madrid’s fourth.

Dani Carvajal was named MVP of the match against Atlético, in the semi-final of the Spanish Super Cup. The home-grown player was instrumental the team securing its place in Sunday’s final. First, he provided the assist for Mendy to make it 2-1 and, with five minutes to go before 90′, he smashed the ball into the net to make it 3-3 and send the derby into extra-time. In extra-time, Carvajal continued to shine and set up Madrid’s fourth goal when he put in a cross that Savic turned into his own net.
