Britney Spears is set to release her long-awaited first memoir, The Woman in Me, on October 24 via Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster.
The pop star shared a video to her Instagram on Tuesday afternoon that reads, “It’s coming… my story on my terms at last. Are you ready?” The cover reveal follows, which features Spears topless, wrapping her arms around herself, and gazing directly into the camera.

The book is described as “a brave and astonishingly moving story about freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith, and hope,” according to its official website. The Woman in Me will follow Spears’ journey through the process of ending her conservatorship, as the site notes.
“In June 2021, the whole world was listening as Britney Spears spoke in open court,” the site reads. “The impact of sharing her voice — her truth — was undeniable, and it changed the course of her life and the lives of countless others. The Woman in Me reveals for the first time her incredible journey — and the strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history.”
June 2021 was when Spears took the stand in court to ask a judge to end her 13-year conservatorship. She alleged that she was forced to work against her will, unable to see her kids or her boyfriend, financially exploited, and more while her father, Jamie Spears, had control over her finances and life. During her testimony, Spears said that she “would like to be able to share my story with the world and what they did to me instead of it being a hush hush secret to benefit all of them.”
