The movie, ‘accentuates the journey of Renaissance World Tour, from its inception, to the opening in Stockholm, Sweden, to the finale in Kansas City, Missouri,’ according to an official synopsis per Rolling Stone.
‘It is about Beyonce’s intention, hard work, involvement in every aspect of the production, her creative mind and purpose to create her legacy, and master her craft.’
‘Received with extraordinary acclaim, Beyonce’s Renaissance World Tour created a sanctuary for freedom, and shared joy, for more than 2.7 million fans,’ the premise concluded.
In October, the award-winning performer dropped the first teaser to prepare fans for the concert film. In the video, she could be heard saying, ‘When I am performing, I am nothing but free.’
She added, ‘The goal for this tour was to create a place where everyone is free, and no one is judged. Start over, start fresh, create the new – that’s what the Renaissance is about.’
However, according to Variety, the film is not eligible to be nominated for an Academy award – including Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour film.
The Academy’s bylaws, per the Documentary Branch, says, ‘a theatrically released nonfiction motion picture dealing creatively with cultural, artistic, historical, social, scientific, economic or other subjects.’
‘It may be photographed in actual occurrence, or may employ partial reenactment, stock footage, stills, animation, stop-motion or other techniques, as long as the emphasis is on fact and not on fiction.’
‘Not over’: As the trailer came to an end, Beyonce could be heard performing the track titled, Break My Soul, as she expressed in the background, ‘It’s a new birth. I hope you feel liberated, but the Renaissance is not over’
