Asking Scarlett Johansson About Her 5’2 Height Is Not A Good Idea

Scarlett Johansson was tired of hearing that she was shorter than expected from interviewers, and set the record straight.

Johansson has put interviewers on the spot for asking inappropriate questions, such as what she wears underneath her Black Widow suit.

Not only is she in the headlines for her films, but the same also holds true for interviews. In one instance, Johansson made the headlines for an eerie situation that took place in the background. However, in this particular instance, Scarlett Johansson wasn’t exactly pleased with a particular statement regarding her height.

In the following, we’re going to take a closer look at what was said, while also revealing Johansson’s thoughts on feeling the pressure to look a certain way in Hollywood. We’ll also take a look at another moment that caused Johansson to put yet another interviewer on the spot for a certain question.

Let’s get started.

Scarlett Johansson has been frustrated before during interview moments. One thing in particular confused Johansson and that was a bizarre height comment. Johansson admitted that this is recurring for her, that certain members of the media think that she’s taller than she really is.

Johansson was frustrated alongside Cosmopolitan after they revealed that she was shorter than expected.

Scarlett said, “‘Wow, you’re really short.’ I get that a lot. [They say] ‘You’re a lot shorter than I thought you were’. I’m like, ‘Wow, how is that ever OK to say to someone?’ It’s so bizarre. Yes. It’s, ‘You’re really short.’”

Thankfully for Johansson, the interview shifted and did not insist on her actual height. Instead, she got to talk about the perks of being a mom.

“I am so proud to do and I love to do and to be able to show my daughter that and have her come to the workplace and show her I’m an independent woman making it happen – it is very important for me.”

In truth, Johansson admitted in other interviews that the pressure to look a certain way for Hollywood has always been an extra stress.

Scarlett Johansson Admitted She Felt The Pressure From Hollywood To Look A Certain Way
In the past, Scarlett Johansson spoke about the pressure to be thin and body shaming in Hollywood. Johansson told Candis Magazine about the pressure to stay thin for a role.

“There has always been pressure on actors to stay thin. There’s a scene in one of my favorite movies, ‘All About Eve’, where Bette Davis is circling around the room, horribly upset about something, and she picks up a chocolate … puts it down … picks it up again … puts it down again … finally, she gives in and eats it, but only after a huge struggle!”

She continues, “So even back then, there was the pressure going on. And now, it’s much worse.”

Scarlett Johansson felt “out of the loop” while filming alongside Bill Murray.
Johansson went on to admit that her goals have changed in recent years. Now, it is all about being healthy more than anything else.

“There’s a weight I like to maintain, which is slim but healthy. But there’s a healthy way to keep to that weight and there’s an unhealthy way. I don’t have any comment on how other people choose to live their lives – but for me, I am far too paranoid about my own health to take the road of eating disorders. I’d rather just stay in shape the natural way.”

A great outlook for Johansson. Though sadly, she still faces struggles elsewhere, and that’s especially true during interviews given awkward questions.

Scarlett Johansson Put Interviewers On The Spot For Other Reasons In The Past
Scarlett Johansson put another interviewer on the spot for asking what was underneath her Black Widow suit. Once again, it wasn’t like she was asked this once, but it was brought up multiple times.

Extra reporter Jerry Penacoli brought up the question, and Johansson had quite the reaction.

She said, “You’re like the fifth person that’s asked me that today. What is going on? Since when do people start asking each other in interviews about their underwear?”

The interviewer tried to justify the question by making mention that the suit was very тιԍнт. Nonetheless, Johansson continued on, wanting to leave it to everyone else’s imagination.

“I’ll leave it up to your imagination. Whatever you feel like I should be wearing or not wearing under that costume.”
