Cesc Fabregas Sees a Little Bit of Himself in Kai Havertz
Arsenal legend Cesc Fabregas has praised Kai Havertz, the German striker who recently joined the Gunners. Fabregas believes that Havertz’s playing style reminds him of himself when he was playing for Barcelona.
In an interview, Fabregas said: “I don’t like talking about myself, but Havertz reminds me a bit of myself when I was at Barcelona.” The former Arsenal captain further explained: “He plays flexibly in both positions as a false nine and a central midfielder (number 8). I understand exactly that feeling.”
Fabregas appreciates the simplicity and effectiveness of Havertz’s playing style: “He plays simply, not trying to do too many difficult techniques. Havertz knows what he needs to do, and that’s what makes him so good. Right now, Havertz is scoring a lot of important goals, and the Arsenal fans love him too. Havertz is a great addition to the team.”
Fabregas’s praise is a positive sign for Havertz. The young German player joined Arsenal for £65m in the summer 2023 transfer window. Despite a slow start, scoring just one goal in his first 12 Premier League appearances, Havertz is showing significant improvement. Havertz’s intelligent, versatile and effective playing style promises to help Arsenal achieve many successes in the future.
