Sharing new creations with outsiders is a vulnerable experience for any artist — including Ariana Grande.

In a new video shared to Instagram on Thursday, the pop superstar, 30, teared while previewing songs from her upcoming album Eternal Sunshine for her label, Republic Records, for the first time.

“I wanted to involve my team, everyone at Republic, as soon as possible because things are just pouring out and happening very quickly as they often do. You know how I am and you know how these things go,” Grande told the record label staffers in the clip, seemingly filmed in 2023.

“I’m nervous! I wanted to share with you that this is kind of a concept album because it’s all different heightened pieces of the same story of the same experience,” added the Wicked star, as she started to choke up. “I’m, like, weirdly emotional.”

Grande explained that her intense feelings stem from the fact that she’s been “doing this for you guys for 10 years, 12 years,” she told the team, before turning around and saying to herself, “F—ing pull it together, bitch.”

Introducing Eternal Sunshine, a “working” album title at the time, she said some of its tracks “are really vulnerable” while others find her “playing the part that people kind of expect me to be sometimes, and having fun with that — and the rest of it’s all kind of really vulnerable.”

The Grammy winner began creating the album “as soon as the strike started,” she explained, noting that she worked with writer/producer Max Martin for a couple weeks and also spent time on her own in the studio. “This was all pretty fast,” she said.

At the time, Grande played nine songs for the group but said she planned to include 13 on the album, which she expressed hopes to release in the first half of 2024.

Eternal Sunshine is set for a March 8 release. Earlier this month, she released the single “Yes, And?” alongside a music video, and the track debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

After learning of the song’s success, Grande posted to Instagram to thank fans for their support, sharing a clip featuring behind-the-scenes footage from the making of the music video.

Grande began her note enthusiastically by sharing the new track’s peak position on the charts and including a handful of exclamation points and teary-eyed emojis.

“i am so so so……. so emotional,” the Positions singer candidly wrote at the time. “thank you from the bottom of my heart to my fans, the most incredible angels in the world, for the love you have shown this song and me.”
