The remains of a “couple of lovers” were found when excavating a 5,000-year-old tomb in Kazakhstan.
The two sets of remains were placed next to each other . Based on this image, experts determined that this couple may have promised to be together forever and ever. It’s unclear whether they were both murdered or one of them took the other’s life to be buried together, but they were always a couple.
In addition, archaeologists also discovered nearby a bronze chariot and the remains of two horses. Archaeologist Dr. Igor Kukushkin – who is in charge of the excavation, said it is still not certain whether this is a couple or not.

“This type of double burial is not uncommon. It is possible that the woman or man was killed to ensure that they would be together. But we cannot rule out the possibility that two people who have nothing to do with each other died at the same time ,” the doctor said.
After excavation, it was discovered that the woman was wearing jewelry including a green bracelet made of precious stones. While the man was buried with a quiver of arrows and a metal dagger.
Karaganda State University archaeologist Viktor Novozhenov said the position of the horses showed that they were killed and deliberately buried to create chariots.
