Coach Arne Slot is on his way to becoming Klopp’s official successor at Anfield. Everything is only a matter of time.

British newspaper Daily Mail said Liverpool had reached a verbal agreement with Feyenoord to recruit coach Arne Slot to Anfield to replace Klopp next season. Currently, the two sides are conducting final paperwork before the deal is officially completed.

It is known that Liverpool will have to pay the Dutch team about 9.4 million euros in contract compensation to get the signature of coach Arne Slot. Previously, Liverpool wanted to pay more than 7 million euros but Feyenoord did not agree. 

The deal to recruit Arne Slot will allow the Dutch strategist to bring his most trusted assistants to England such as assistant head coach Sipke Hulshoff, analyst Etienne Reijnen or Ruben Peeters.

As for coach Arne Slot, he also personally confirmed his desire to succeed Klopp at Anfield and will officially take on the new position after the two clubs complete the procedures. Coach Klopp currently has only about 4 matches left to end his reign at the Merseyside team. The German strategist himself also highly appreciated Arne Slot and thought that he was a very kind and capable coach.

Meanwhile, Goal newspaper said that by the end of this week, all procedures will be completed and possibly by early Monday of next week, Liverpool will officially announce Arne Slot as the team’s new coach in the 2024/25 season.
