“I really enjoy going to the grocery store with him,” she said. “I don’t know why but it fills me with a lot of joy. I think maybe because it’s almost a metaphor for marriage. ‘Okay, we’ve got this list. These are the things we need. Let’s work together and get this done.'”

In 2022, Lawrence and Maroney welcomed their first child together. The actress previously confirmed that she was expecting in September 2021 and graced several red carpets showing off her bump.

When asked how she knew Maroney was “the one,” she told Sadler that she “started with the basics.”

“‘How do I feel? Is he nice? Is he kind?’ It’s just — this is the one, I know that sounds really stupid but he’s just, he’s — you know. He’s the greatest person I’ve ever met, so I feel very honored to become a Maroney,” she said.

Lawrence and Maroney spent a rainy Labor Day walking around New York City. They also made a stop by the Metropolitan Museum of Art. One week later, Lawrence and Maroney were spotted again laughing and walking around N.Y.C after getting massages together. The couple also enjoyed lunch in the city.

Jen and Cooke were the last people to leave at 5:30 a.m.,” a source told PEOPLE at the time. “They waited until all the guests were gone so they could personally say goodbye. When they left, Jen looked happy, but also a bit tired. She also looked stunning in a jeweled dress.”

Lawrence voiced her concerns about being a new mother during an interview with Vanity Fair in November 2021. As an actress who’s constantly in the spotlight, she desires the utmost privacy and protection for her child.

“Every instinct in my body wants to protect their privacy for the rest of their lives, as much as I can,” she said. “I don’t want anyone to feel welcome into their existence. And I feel like that just starts with not including them in this part of my work.”

In April 2022, news broke that Lawrence and Maroney had welcomed their first child after they were spotted out on a stroll with their newborn. The couple hasn’t revealed any further details about their newborn, including the baby’s official birth date.

In an interview with Vogue, Lawrence revealed that she and Cooke welcomed a baby boy in February 2022. She also reflected on embracing her new role as a mother, saying, “My heart has stretched to a capacity that I didn’t know about. I include my husband in that.”

Lawrence experienced a variety of emotions when Maroney proposed to her.

“[It was] terrifying, but very, very exciting,” she said on an episode of Amelia Dimoldenberg’s YouTube series, Chicken Shop Date. “I didn’t say what I wanted to. I imagined it a million times, and then I ended up just going, ‘What? What? What?’ And then going, ‘Thank you, thank you, thank you.’ “

The couple, who wore color-coordinated outfits, were spotted walking near Central Park in N.Y.C. Lawrence lovingly held Maroney’s arm on the outing.
