Andre Onana GIFTS Sheffield United’s opening goal at Old Trafford, as the goalkeeper’s sҺσcƙ pass allows Jayden Bogle to score for the bottom club

Andre Onana was angry that he was to blame for Manchester United giving up the first goal of the game against Sheffield United.

The Blades have had trouble scoring in their first season back in the English Premier League. They are likely to be sent back to the Championship, but they were given a chance early on at Old Trafford.

During a rough patch, Onana has been one of United’s best players. He was the hero at Wembley when Erik ten Hag’s team beat Coventry on penalties to make it to their second straight FA Cup final.

But his confidence was dashed when United returned to the Premier League and made a big mistake by passing the ball to Sheffield striker Jayden Bogle in the wrong direction.

When trying to pass the ball to Diogo Dalot, the Cameroonian, who just joined the team from Inter Milan this summer, got scared. He was trying to play the ball out from the back.

Onana’s pass didn’t have enough power, which let Bogle steal the ball on the edge of the box, run through to the goal, and shoot past the goalie.

United players had their heads in their hands when Bogle scored a surprise goal for the visitors in the 35th minute. Onana had to scramble to his feet as Old Trafford went silent.

Online, fans were in pain over Onana’s mistake. One fan wrote on X, “Onana, what have you done?! “

Another reviewer who was just as angry said, “This sums up Onana’s season with Manchester United.” A huge failure.

One response made fun of Onana by saying that he gave Bogle a “brilliant assist,” while another said, “On a serious note though, aside from poor finishing and an individual mistake from Onana, I can’t exactly fault the performance.”

After tying the game with a goal right before halftime, Harry Maguire saved his teammates’ faces.
