Rodrygo was one of six players to score in this year’s Champions League quarter-final first leg between Real Madrid and Man City. Pep Guardiola’s team took an early lead but Real fought back thanks to an own goal from Ruben Dias before Rodrygo delicately finished past Ortega.

The Brazilian player celebrated in the Siu style of Cristiano Ronaldo. And after the match, the 23-year-old star revealed that Ronaldo has always been an inspiration to him.
“I always watch clips of Cristiano. Sometimes I watch them before matches to get inspired. He’s the one who comes to mind when I score, so I celebrate like he does.
When I remember my childhood, when I used to watch Ronaldo play in the Champions League, and see the fans screaming his name, that’s what comes to my mind.
As I always say, Ronaldo is my idol and my hero. So celebrating in his style is a good way to pay respect to him.”
Rodrygo’s goal could not help Real Madrid achieve a final victory over Man City. The two teams held each other to a 3-3 draw in a match filled with super goals. The most beautiful play was probably Fede Valverde’s volley in the penalty area, causing Man City’s defense to freeze to set the score 3-3. The two teams will have the return match at Etihad a week later to determine the winner.
