Beyonce’s Renaissance tour film first-day presales ‘estimated to be around $6M-$7M’

Beyonce‘s upcoming Renaissance tour film has already reached between $6 and $7 million in presales, Deadline reported on Tuesday.

It comes after the 42-year-old songstress — whose final tour stop was in Kansas City — announced on Sunday that she will be releasing the behind-the-scenes documentary in theaters December 1.

The monetary estimate was calculated from the three largest American theaters — AMC, Regal and Cinemark.

The outlet noted that the official number of presale profits could be higher than the ballpark figure.

It was also noted in Deadline’s coverage that Fandango tickets for Taylor Swift‘s The Eras Tour presale tickets outsold Beyonce’s 7-to-1 on the first day of sales.

The tickets for the film cost $22 and the star’s beehive fanbase has already taken to the internet to express excitement.

Sources shared with the publication that Renaissance was not expected to compete with Eras Tour numbers.

First day presales for Swift reached $37 million, with $26 million from AMC.

The total number for presale profits was over $65 million and profits exceeding $100 million are predicted for the upcoming release on Friday, October 13.

AMC’s portion of Renaissance presales is believed to be around $4 million.

An opening day estimate for Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé is around $20 million.

‘You need to understand that a $6M-$7M figure in presales on a movie that’s opening in the first weekend of December is great,’ an undisclosed rival distribution executive told Deadline, adding, ‘Nothing ever opens here, so this is a very good sign.’
