Manchester United fans, the vote is now open for March’s Player of the Month.
Erik ten Hag’s team played four matches over the course of the month, winning twice, losing once and drawing the other.
Across those games, United found the net on eight occasions – some of those strikes have been nominated for our Goal of the Month competition – with four of those finishes coming in the dramatic 4-3 FA Cup triumph over Liverpool at Old Trafford.
Following our 3-1 derby defeat to Manchester City at the start of March, Erik’s side recorded a 2-0 victory over Everton and that historic win against Liverpool in consecutive weeks, before finishing the period with a 1-1 draw at Brentford.
As usual, you have the opportunity to have your say on who should be our Player of the Month – read about their contributions before casting your vote…
DIOGO DALOT (4 apps | 1 clean sheet)
Our Portuguese right-back has been in fine form this season and March was another impressive month for the 25-year-old.
Dalot was useful going forward down our right-hand side and, defensively, he has been strong too. Arguably his best performance out of the four was in the dramatic 4-3 triumph over Liverpool in the FA Cup, when the full-back fed off the energy of the Old Trafford crowd and played a key role in both defence and attack once more for Ten Hag’s team.
Such is Diogo’s grip on the right-back position, when Aaron Wan-Bissaka returned from injury for the matches against Liverpool and Brentford, he has been playing at left-back.
ALEJANDRO GARNACHO (4 apps | 1 assist | 1 MOTM)
Alejandro has seven goals and four assists for United this season, with the Argentina livewire providing the key pass for Amad’s memorable winner against Liverpool on 17 March.
Garnacho’s clever feet and driving runs created both of our goals in the win against Everton. The 19-year-old popped up on the left to earn the first penalty of the match against the Toffees before embarking on a sublime run, taking on several Everton defenders before being taken down inside the box once more.
This starring performance earned Garna our Man of the Match award and, in the following week, he was impressive once more.
We played out over 120 minutes in a topsy-turvy match at Old Trafford and, despite having started, Garnacho was one of the most energetic players on the pitch deep into extra time.
His determination and desire proved the difference for United, as he broke away longside Amad before setting up the Ivorian for a goal that will surely never be forgotten.
ANDRE ONANA (4 apps | 1 clean sheet | 1 MOTM)
The third man on our shortlist is Andre Onana, who rightly gained plenty of plaudits for his performance in our 1-1 draw with Brentford on Saturday – United’s final match of March.
Andre won our Man of the Match award at the Gtech Community Stadium after an impressive display as he produced a number of important stops. His double-save in the second half was supremely impressive and, had it not been for the Cameroon international, Ten Hag’s team will surely have left west London with empty handed.
Prior to his Brentford display, Onana had put in strong performances across the month, making important stops despite the 3-1 defeat at City, keeping a clean sheet against Everton and then again thwarting Liverpool at key moments to help United come from behind to defeat Jurgen Klopp’s side 4-3 in the FA Cup.
