The true standout element of Selena’s ensemble, however, was her strikingly dark lipstick, which could have been a crimson or even a violet, and the contrasting thick white hoops she wore in her ears.

The Look At Her Now songbird also donned a long white down parka, over a loose-fitting grey tweed shirt and pants set.

Her shirt was buttoned up all the way to the collar, and she wore a single gold chain around her neck layered over the top.

On her feet, Gomez wore comfy looking white trainers with black detailing.

With the release of Rare, the singer/actress has declared she’s no longer ‘protecting people that never protected’ her as she heads into a new era of her life and career.

Gomez recently told Billboard that she’s done living her life by other people’s rules and opinions.

‘I’ve said this before, but I used to be terrified of saying anything,’ she revealed to reporter Jason Lipshutz. ‘I would find myself protecting people that never protected me or cared for me.’

While she wasn’t explicit about who she was talking about, it was easy to assume her fraught relationship with ex Justin Bieber may have been the inspiration for many of the tracks.

Selena explained how she was paralyzed by fear of saying or doing the ‘wrong thing’ because of the constant judgement she faces from being in the spotlight. 

But at a certain point, the singer realized there was no reason to cater to other people’s emotions.

‘I was just done, you know?’ she said. ‘Just done being silent, and I felt like I deserved to have a moment for myself, after going through so much, and throwing that all into this album.’
