The post came just days after Gaga was slammed by her own fans for an advertising campaign in which she teams with pharmaceutical giant Pfizer for a migraine drug.
The Bad Romance hitmaker posted a snap of herself at her The Chromatica Ball Tour last year featuring a huge watermark in the top right corner for Nurtec ODT on Instagram.
What followed were slides straight from Pfizer’s marketing team featuring safety information, side effects, and general information about the migraine drug.
Gaga – who has been open about her medical struggles – posted it with a lengthy caption featuring a mix of her own statement along with advertising/legal jargon.
Part of the caption read: ‘Ever since childhood, I’ve dealt with migraine pain. When I tried Nurtec® ODT (rimegepant) 75 mg for the first time, I’ll never forget wishing I had found it sooner.
‘That’s why I’m proud to partner with Nurtec ODT. [purple heart emoji] We’re in this together. If you’re ready to speak to a doctor, ask about Nurtec ODT today. #MHAM’
Ah! Little Monsters: The post came just days after Gaga was slammed by her own fans for an advertising campaign in which she teams with pharmaceutical giant Pfizer for a migraine drug
‘You really are such an embarrassing sellout’: The 37-year-old hitmaker had her faithful followers known as the Little Monsters up in arms with an Instagram post on Tuesday
There were even claims on social media that Gaga had lost several followers due to the posting as Twitter user @sourbenji wrote: ‘Lady Gaga has lost over 300,000 followers since her Nurtec ad [sad face emoji]’
Her Little Monsters were not pleased by the posting as one pulled no punches in the comments section writing: ‘you really are such an embarrassing sellout, it’s really disappointing.’
Another said: “ma’am??? since when are you doing sponsored posts??? This is wild’
A fan was not pleased as they said: ‘posting a photo of the chromatica ball during pride month but being a migraine ad is homophobic.’
Lastly, a different Little Monster also expressed disappointment with Gaga for posting the advertisement but nothing about it being Pride Month.
They said: ‘This is so heartbreaking and disheartening. not a single post about pride and the attacks our trans brothers and sisters are suffering. no fan interaction, no music, even the chromatica ball seems to be shelved and all you guys care about now is money and paid partnerships. this is terribly disappointing.’
