Bruno Fernandes, a Manchester United star, has revealed the name of his second child.
The Portuguese midfielder has stated that the baby kid his partner is expecting will be named Goncalo.
The 25-year-old playmaker posted on Instagram, beside a photo of himself with his hands on his sweetheart Ana Pinho’s abdomen and their daughter Matilde, “Waiting for you, baby Goncalo.”
Teammate Jesse Lingard was one of those who liked the post.
Goncalo Paciencia, a Portuguese footballer who presently plays for Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt, responded with ‘Nome de crack’, which translates to ‘Name of a fantastic player.’
The image was captured during a picture shoot in the couple’s native Portugal.
Ana, who disclosed last year that she met Bruno at school when he was 16, captioned a photo she took on Instagram of her hands resting on her belly “Countdown.”
The footballer and his wife have been relaxing with their three-year-old daughter Matilde on the Algarve before the birth of their first boy on September 19, when United’s season begins.
They’ve been staying at a hotel in the upscale resort of Vilamoura.
In addition to organizing a photo shoot to have memories of the days leading up to Goncalo’s birth, they went on a boat trip together.
Bruno recently paid a surprise visit to his former club, Boavista, where he spent eight years as a young player.
He was allowed to aim at Rafael Flores, a 17-year-old goalie, to practice his penalties, including his characteristic “jump” kick.
In March, the United midfielder announced on social media that he and Ana were expecting their second child together.
Their daughter was shown kissing Ana’s belly, with the remark “A boy on the way.”
Goncalo is a Portuguese version of the Spanish name Gonzalo, which comes from the Latin name Gundisalvus and roughly translates as battle genius or war elf.
Bruno has not explained why he and his wife chose the name.
After the birth of their first kid, the player admitted, “I always wanted to be a father early in life so that when my daughter was growing up, I would still be young.”
And, suggesting that Goncalo is unlikely to be the last of their brood, he stated in an interview last year: “I always wanted to have three children.”
