Over the weekend, the next installment in the Mission Impossible franchise  was released. Thanks to Tom Cruise ‘s charisma  and the franchise’s reputation,  Mission: Impossible – Fallout  rose to the top of the North American  revenue chart this week. With an estimated amount of 61.5 million USD , the 6th part surpassed the opening revenue of its predecessor  Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation  ( 55.5 million USD ) and became the film with the highest opening revenue. highest in the  Mission Impossible series .

Fallout not only brings in quite good revenue, but the films are also highly rated on prestigious American rating sites. The film received an A from Cinema Score, 97% from Rotten Tomatoes and an 86 score on Metacritic. In the international market, Mission: Impossible – Fallout  debuted in 36 markets and was estimated to gross 92 million USD . The major contributor to this figure is  South Korea with  24.6 million USD , followed by the United Kingdom ( 9 million USD ), India ( 7 million USD ), Indonesia ( 5.5 million USD ), etc. Currently, the film still hopes to have higher revenue because it has not yet opened in some markets such as France , Australia , Germany and Japan and especially China on August 31.

Reduced by 57% compared to the first week in theaters, but Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again  remains in second place with an estimated $15 million  in sales this week. Thanks to this number, the film’s North American revenue was raised to  70 million USD . In international markets,  Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again has grossed 96.8 million USD , accounting for 57.9% of the film’s total revenue to date. 

Although it topped the box office last weekend, The Equalizer 2 quickly lost its position and in its second week in theaters, the film fell two places to third place with revenue of only  14 million. USD – down 61% compared to the first part.
