At the recent Frozen 2 premiere, Selena Gomez was prepared to look after her little sister Gracie Teefey as she made her red carpet debut at just six years old. Speaking on BBC Radio 1’s Sounds show, the 27-year-old singer revealed that she had a heartwarming conversation with Gracie before they stepped onto the red carpet. Selena made sure to reassure her sister, telling her, “If you start feeling nervous or overwhelmed, just grab my hand and I’ll take you off right away.”
She remembered how Gracie casually walked onto the carpet, completely unfazed, and had her own little moment with the feathers. Selena fondly recalled, “I’m just standing there like, ‘Gracie, why not get me in the picture too!’ She was just enjoying herself.” Selena shared with host Nick Grimshaw, or as fans know him, ‘Grimmy,’ that taking Gracie to the red carpet was an incredibly special and cool experience for her.
During a conversation, I told her, “This carpet is my absolute favorite creation so far.” She had never attempted carpet-making before, and there was no pressure for her to do so.
She mentioned, “We do everything to ensure her safety. However, my sister has recently become quite dramatic, focusing on dresses and glitter.”
The former girlfriend of Justin Bieber excitedly recounted on a British radio show, “She had an incredible time. It was just like being in Disneyland.”
Even though Selena didn’t appear in the Frozen movies, she and Gracie wowed everyone on the red carpet by rocking matching themed outfits. The star-studded premiere took place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, which is well-known for hosting the prestigious Academy Awards. The popularity of Disney’s Frozen franchise has been so massive that it even led to a Broadway musical adaptation that premiered at the St. James Theatre just last year.
