However, they were soon referred to as having an on-again-off-again relationship, as the two reportedly broke things off in 2021 before getting back together. Cruise and Atwell officially called it quits last year just weeks after the two attended the Top Gun 2 premiere together.

A year ago, The Sun reported that Tom Cruise and Hayley Atwell officially parted ways after their initial split in September 2021. Sources claimed that their relationship was “genuine,” but things still did not work out for the couple.

“In spite of some rumors to the contrary, it was never just for the cameras. Unfortunately, it did not work out for them,” an insider told the outlet. They also shared that the two get on really well and also have great chemistry.

And this bond was allegedly the reason they decided to give it another try after their split in 2021. However, things were not as great as earlier after their relationship was made public. Sources claimed that the former couple has now decided that “they are better as friends.”

Soon after their split, Atwell was linked to songwriter and music producer Ned Wolfgang Kelly. They recently announced their engagement with an Instagram post in which the Captain America actress flaunted her ring toward the camera.
