Now, an industry insider has broken the news that Barbie star Ryan Gosling has been cast in the MCU in an undisclosed role. The actor has never been in a superhero film before and, with his recent Oscar nomination, has been one of the most sought-after A-listers in Hollywood. Fans speculate that he has been cast as Nova in the MCU.
Ever since Henry Cavill’s tenure as Superman ended and David Corenswet was cast in James Gunn’s reboot, the actor has been looking for the next franchise to put his hands in. While he played the character in only a few films of the DCEU, Cavill’s role as Superman has had a large fanbase that was frustrated with his exit from the franchise.

According to Giant Freakin Robot, the Argylle star has been rumored to be cast as a multiversal variant of Wolverine in the upcoming Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman starrer Deadpool & Wolverine. The site mentioned that the news was confirmed by an insider who had previously leaked that Linda Cardellini would be voicing Lyla in Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol.3. Cavill will reportedly show up in a long brown coat in the film.
The actor has been long rumored to have been in talks with Marvel for making an appearance. Fans had previously speculated that the Man of Steel star would be cast as the antagonist Doctor Doom in the upcoming Fantastic Four film. Ryan Gosling has long been campaigned by fans to be cast as Nova a.k.a Richard Rider. Part of the Nova Corps, the character is known for his Nova Force powers and superhuman strengths.
