Archaeologists are looking for human bones and numbering them in order for research.
“The mass grave tells us more about human death and burial practices several hundred years ago,” archaeologist Isabelle Abadie shared with the Daily Mail. According to him, the ancients arranged the skeletons neatly to save space.
The discovery of an ancient tomb and about 200 human skeletons happened by chance when the supermarket owner wanted to expand the facility.
Scientists will research and test DNA to accurately determine the age of the skeletons.
The mass grave in Paris was found a few weeks after scientists found 15 skeletons in Ipplepen, Devon, England.
Some remains are missing lower leg bones.
